Alan Groves

Has in excess of thirty five years experience in the unique and complex industry of lifts and escalators. Originally as an installation engineer/technician he has developed his understanding of the industry and move into management, design and consultancy.

As a project engineer and manager he has completed projects from design conception to commissioning and has delivered both short and long term installations.

Most recent work includes;

Technical support for the development of the new ‘Transport for London’ Escalator standard and tender specification (as Crossrail’s L&E Engineer);

Technical support for the Network Rail Machine Room Less(RML) Standard (as Crossrail’s L&E Engineer);

Standards and specifications for Crossrail;

L&E Technical Advisor to Atkins to assist in obtaining a concession for settlement and movement of escalators from London Underground;

Design and specification for Network Rail ‘Step Free Access’ programme for Mouchel Parkman;

Traffic analysis and design for the Lagoon Project (Abu Dhabi);

Design, traffic analysis and specification for the Abu Dhabi New Court Complex;

Design and specification for the Edinburgh Airport Rail Link;

Vertical Transportation Requirements for Tottenham Court Road Station Upgrade works.
